As Balch & Bingham reported Tuesday, many businesses face hurdles to obtaining business interruption insurance coverage.

On March 2, 2020, Jansen Voss and Paul Zimmerman of the law firm Christian & Small, LLP presented to the members of the APCAA and AIIA information regarding the Alabama Insurance Data Security Law (Act 2019-98).

On February 13th, we participated in the Troy University RMI Career Fair at the Sorrell College of Business! We met many Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors in the Risk Management & Insurance curriculum who desire to secure jobs and pursue a career in the insurance industry. Several of these wonderful students took advantage of our invitation to join APCAA as “Student Members.” We introduced them to our cornerstones of focus: Continuing Education and Professional Development working with the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA)!

Let’s welcome these students into the industry and invite them to join us in a great career path as Claims Adjusters!  Click their LinkedIn profiles below.

We had a great Insurance Fraud seminar on February 26! We want to thank the City of Oxford for being our venue host for this seminar and we want to thank the members of the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Alabama Department of Insurance Fraud Bureau for participating. We had several members of the Alabama Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units (AL-IASIU) attend. Special thanks goes to Temporary Accommodations for sponsoring lunch and to Crain & Associates, Inc. for sponsoring our breaks!  This seminar was approved for 5 hours General CE credit and 1 hour Ethics credit.
